Helping kids move from a residential treatment
environment to a community-based or family setting is the goal of
Edgewood's Permanency Program. The program is designed to increase
the chances of success for children placed in foster care or a family
environment by giving them the individualized treatment and care
that they need prior to leaving residential care.
Edgewood's Permanency Program applies an innovative
methodology designed to increase the chances of success for children
in the program. To do this, it offers support services based solely
on the specific needs of a child. The program employs "best practices"
and carefully examines every element of a particular child's world.
It steps away from the "one size fits all" approach by completing
an initial assessment of each child as they enter the program. Thus,
ensuring that all decisions made concerning treatment are based
on a child's specific needs.
