Arts and Crafts Volunteer 

Teach arts and crafts: painting, string art, macramé, clay, paper art, tie dye, assorted weaving, leather craft, silk screening, etc.

Build self-esteem and sense of accomplishment in children; give usual schedule a change and boost.

1 year commitment
2 hours/week
evenings or weekends

Arts and crafts skills, patience and the ability to instruct

Clerical Aide
Assist with clerical duties in Administrative Center School Office and Development Office Help staff complete daily administration duties. 1 year commitment
2-3 hours per week
8:30-3:30 weekdays
Skills in office procedures, machines and phone
Cottage Aide
Read stories at bedtime, play board games, present fun activity, cooking classes, etc. Give children positive attention and a break from their routine. Help them build trust in adults. 1 year commitment
evenings or weekends
2 hours/ week
Creative skills in presenting projects and activities for children
Life Skills
Instructor
Instruct children in basic everyday living skills: cooking, sewing, money management, household repairs, gardening, etc. Prepare children for adult living and teach responsibilities in independent living conditions. 1 year commitment

Skilled in subject being taught
Mini-Course Teacher
Support staff; plan and teach special interest course to broaden students scope of life experiences Stimulate child to learn. Assist teachers. Summer school only:
6 weeks
2 hours/day
Knowledge of Special Education criteria and life experiences to share
Nurse Assistant
Assist with records and insurance claim forms. Eye tests, etc. for children. Assist nursing staff.

1 year commitment 

2 hours/week minimum 

Registered Nurse or LPN with malpractice insurance
Teacher's Aide/ Tutor Support
Special Ed staff. Tutoring individual students, grading assignments; help plan
special projects.
Assist staff. Assist child in learning.

1 year commitment

2 hours/week

9am-3pm weekdays
