Edgewood Children's Center Merges with Boys & Girls Town of Missouri

At Edgewood Children’s Center, our mission is to provide compassionate care and treatment to restore children and strengthen families through intensive therapy, special education, case management and support services. Edgewood serves more than 300 children and family members daily. We offer highly individualized treatment, education, and community-based services to children and their families.

On October 1, 2009, Edgewood Children’s Center and Boys & Girls Town merged operations to create a new organization that expands services available to children and families, strengthens the impact of donor support and promotes the creation of new and innovative services.

Combined, the agencies form one of the largest children’s not-for-profit services in Missouri, serving approximately 7,800 children and family members annually from four regional campuses. In the St. Louis area, the agency operates under the Edgewood name. The Columbia, Springfield and St. James campuses continue to operate under the name Boys & Girls Town of Missouri.

Boys & Girls Town of Missouri was established in 1949 and serves at-risk children and youth with a history of abuse and neglect or severe behavior and emotional disorders through foster care case management, residential treatment, outreach and therapy programs.
