TITLE SKILL REQUIREMENTS
 
Overnight Child Care Worker Function- Supervises and provides for general well-being of children during the night by maintaining safe and secure living environment and monitoring behavior. This position requires staff to be awake at all times.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Monitors children, provides for their security, and intervenes as necessary.
B. Assists with basic cleanliness and order of building by performing housekeeping tasks, including laundry.
C. Completes required documentation, including cottage logs and critical incident reports and room check logs.
D. Fulfills all internal and external job-training requirements.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Knowledge necessary to successfully fulfill this position’s responsibilities include knowledge of emotionally disturbed, behavior disordered children, physical/sexual abuse issues, child development, and behavior management techniques. Skills required include crisis intervention and decision-making skills. Self-awareness and patience are necessary. CPR/First Aid certification is required. Credential normally associated with competency in this position is a Bachelor’s degree in a Human Service field

Ability to respond appropriately to cultural differences that exists among Edgewood’s diverse client base.

Demonstration of the conviction that people are able to change and that this attitude is fostered when a mutually respectful partnership exists between Edgewood personnel and the clients served.

A valid Class E Missouri driver’s license and a good driving record are required because transporting client’s is an essential function of this position.

Human Resources Support Function – Provides clerical support in all human resources areas. Acts as receptionist for all Rock House guests. Answers the switchboard as assigned. Handles basic clerical support needs for the Rock House. Reports to the Human Resources Director.

Scope - Works directly with all staff to monitor personnel benefits, deadlines and requirements. Maintains personnel records. Greets visitors to the Rock House. External contacts include insurance representatives regarding benefits, potential employees for pre-screening and references for potential employees.

Supervisory Responsibility - No direct supervisory responsibility.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assists with audits, record keeping, filing, and file maintenance, regulatory compliance.
2. Answers main telephone line for Edgewood Children's Center as assigned.
3. Acts as general receptionist for the Rock House answer the switchboard and greet and assist visitors to Rock House.
4. Distribution and preparation of incoming and outgoing mail, monitors postage meter and orders postage as necessary.
5. Assists with paperwork associated with pre-hires, new hires, terminations, and benefit enrollments/changes/cancellations.
6. Responsible for staff recognition program that includes monthly Length of Service awards and special Staff Recognition awards.
7. Assists with recruiting by tracking, routing, and processing resumes and applications; requesting background checks, and performing phone screens and reference checks.
8. Performs employment verifications for outside inquiries.
9. Maintains confidentiality of files and personnel actions. Keeps complete and accurate personnel and medical files.
10. Assists with agency orientation for new employees.
11. Fulfills all internal and external job training requirements, including administrative and general staff meetings.
12. Files paperwork as needed on a daily basis.
13. Check campus e-mail.
14. Production Room maintenance: Orders supplies, paper for copier, duplicator and FAX, toner for FAX and copier, pencils, pens, tape, paper clips, etc. Call repairmen as needed for Production Room machines. Neaten Production Room at the end of day including turning off coffee machine. Maintain supplies for refreshments and food related supplies.
15. Distribute bi-monthly paychecks.
16. Schedule use of meeting rooms in Training Center.
17. Order business cards for staff.
18. Secure Rock House front doors at 4:30 p.m., and checks basement doors to be sure they are secure before leaving.
19. Performs all other duties as assigned. Seeks and accepts additional responsibility.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Requirements to successfully fulfill this position's responsibilities include a high school diploma and at least three years administrative support experience. Some college is preferred. Other requirements include knowledge of filing, business office operations, personnel regulations, requirements, commonly used practices, concepts and procedures. Skills required include good judgment, computer and organizational skills. The ability to maintain absolute discretion and confidentiality and to conduct daily duties in a professional manner is essential. The ability to communicate effectively and professionally and in a cheerful fashion with employees and the general public is necessary. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook, Excel and a beginner’s knowledge of Power Point are required. Ability to prioritize well and work with limited supervision is necessary.

All employees hired after August 1, 2004 are required to have a valid Class E driver's license. Employees must have the ability to respond appropriately to cultural differences that exist among Edgewood's diverse client and employee base.

Speech Therapist Function- Provides speech and language assessment and remediation to children with communication disorders.

Scope- Works directly with Teachers for scheduling and feedback concerning child’s progress and goals; communicates with Therapists and other adjunct staff concerning child’s progress and goals. External contacts include referring school districts, parents, guardians and universities.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

B. Prepares and implements special education requirements.
C. Prepares and completes treatment reports.
D. Fulfills all professional responsibilities.
E. Fulfills all internal and external job training requirements.
F. Makes good use of volunteers’ time and skills.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Knowledge necessary to successfully fulfill this position’s responsibilities includes knowledge of speech and hearing functions; nature and causes of communication disorders; behavior management; crisis prevention/intervention and knowledge of learning disabilities. Understanding of State and Federal Special Education laws. Skills required include assessment and treatment skills. CPR/First Aid certification required. Credentials normally associated with competency in this position include a Master’s degree in Speech Pathology, a certificate of clinical competence, and state licensure.
Clinical Therapist (Masters Degree) RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides individual, group and family therapy. Fulfills clinical responsibilities: documentation, case management, crisis intervention, and other duties as appropriate. Conducts treatment staffings. Fulfills all internal and external job-training requirements. Makes good use of volunteers’ time and skills. Participates in professional growth and development activities. Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Knowledge necessary to successfully fulfill this position’s responsibilities includes knowledge of human behavior and development, crisis prevention/intervention, disturbed children and dysfunctional families, physical/sexual abuse issues, treatment approaches to helping children and families, and knowledge of various professional value systems. Skills required include individual, group and family therapy skills. CPR/First Aid certification required. Credential normally associated with competency in this position is a Master’s degree in a Mental Health field; requirement is that the therapist will either possess or be working towards and/or maintain licensure in his/her professional discipline. Valid driver’s license and good driving record strongly preferred. The ability to move freely about the campus and within the community is necessary as well as the ability to work hours other than 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Ability to respond appropriately to cultural differences that exist among Edgewood’s diverse client base. Foster Care Case Manager Function - To provide case management activities to the child in the care and custody of Division of Family Services, the child’s parent(s), siblings, and out of home care providers. To also assist with recruiting, training, and supporting foster parents and the Family and Community Services’ team.

Scope - Works directly with therapists, Family and Community Services team, teachers, childcare workers, DFS, and Juvenile Court to coordinate services to children. To provide help with training and recruitment of foster parents. External contacts include Foster Care Coalition, parents, and other community organizations and agencies necessary for families served. Responsible for documentation regarding cases.

Decision Making Authority - With review of Director of Family and Community Services and child’s treatment team, makes recommendations regarding matching of children and families. With review of therapist, makes decisions regarding pre-placement schedule of visits. With no review or approval, or review of appropriate staff, makes decisions regarding scheduling of appointments and meetings. With no review or approval, makes decisions regarding time management and routing of information.

Supervisory Responsibility - No direct supervisory responsibility.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES

A. Develops assessment of family and children’s needs.
B. Participates in the development of treatment plan in collaboration with the family, family/juvenile court, out of home care provider, and other treatment team members.
C. Arranges for the execution of treatment plans (i.e. visits between parents and children, sibling groups, and others so required.)
D. Attend Family Support Team meetings.
E. Provides services and/or arranges for services specified in the treatment plan and/or court ordered plan to assist the parent(s) to accomplish tasks which allow them to resume care of their children.
F. Arranges or provides services to meet the child’s needs (i.e. educational, environmental, etc.) as specified in the treatment plan.
G. Provides written reports as per contractual requirements.
H. Supervises the child’s placement in the out-of-home provider’s home/facility to ensure the child’s needs are being met.
I. Meets regularly (at least quarterly) with school personnel when child is enrolled in school.
J. Recruits potential foster parents.
K. Leads training sessions for potential foster parents.
L. Fulfills all internal and external job-training requirements.
M. Makes good use of volunteers’ time and skills.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Knowledge of foster care system; public relations; child development; neglect and physical/sexual abuse issues; crisis prevention/intervention; behavioral, cognitive and systemic therapies; and needs of children in foster care is necessary to successfully fulfill this position’s responsibilities. Ability to work weekends and evenings, culturally competent, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to empathize with and offer support to families. Must be able to function as a team member. CPR/First Aid certification required. Credentials normally associated with competency in this position are a Master’s Degree in a mental health field and experience in services to families.

Communications Manager Edgewood is seeking a Communications Manager to increase the awareness and support of its mission. A part of the Development Office and reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the ideal candidate has a strong background in communications and media relations, is a detail-oriented team player, and has a passion for Edgewood’s mission of serving children and families.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Working with the Chief Development Officer, CEO, staff, and the Board communications committee, develop key messages and determine communications goals and priorities.
· Develop and maintain a list of appropriate media contacts.
· Write press releases and pitch stories to media contacts.
· Manage e-communications and maintain content of agency web site using content management software.
· Manage information gathering, design, production, and distribution of all agency publications, the newsletter, the annual report, and promotional materials.
· Manage internal communications for the agency.
· Complete other duties that may be assigned by the Chief Development Officer.

Qualifications Required:

Minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree; 2-3 years of experience in communications and media relations; excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Graphic design skills are a strong plus. Interest in children and social service issues desirable. Ability to work with diverse populations is a must.

Special Education Teacher REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in education with special education certification required. CPR/First Aid certification required. Two or more years experience preferred.

In-Home Specialist - Family and Community Services In-Home Crisis Stabilization Program seeks candidates with a Master's degree or Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role in the Social Services field. Clients include children, adolescents, & families within St. Louis city/county, Jefferson County, & St. Charles County. Programming is for crisis intervention & stabilization, is short term, & intensive in nature. Hours are flexible but include evenings, weekends, & some holidays. We offer a supportive environment, licensure supervision, professional training and competitive benefits. Knowledge of child welfare issues, mental health, family therapy & trauma are desirable. MIS Assistant Responsibilities include preparing, installing, and maintaining workstations and printers on a LAN; providing technical support to agency departments; and maintain LAN servers. Required knowledge and skills include experience in the field, training, and an Associates Degree.
Custodian Knowledge necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position includes basic literacy, basic cleaning skills, knowledge of grounds keeping and safety procedures. Skills include the ability to use power and hand tools. Being able to work independently is desirable.
