Privacy Policy

Our commitment to privacy

Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy, we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used.

The information we collect

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the Edgewood Children’s Center web site. You can make donations, sign up for events and register to join our mailing list. The types of personal information collected at these pages can include:

  • First and last name
  • Mailing address
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Credit or debit card information

You may also have the opportunity to submit information about other people. For example, if your company matches your donation or you submit a donation in honor of another person, we will ask for this basic information:

  • Name of the person being honored
  • Company or employer name

How we use the information

We will use the information you provide about yourself when placing a donation or signing up for an event online to complete that order.

When you are placing a donation in honor or memory of another person, we will list your name and that person's name in our printed newsletter and annual report, unless you request to remain anonymous.

We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Your email address is not used for any other purpose and will never be sold to outside parties.

You can register on our web site if you would like to be added to our mailing list. This information will not be shared with any outside party or solicitor. We will never use or share personally identifiable information provided to us online without also providing you with an opportunity to opt out or to otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.

How you can access or correct your information

You can access all your personally identifiable information that we collect online by contacting the development office at (314) 968-2060. To safeguard your data, your information is stored in a secure password-protected database only accessible by Edgewood staff. You can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by contacting the development department. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.

Remaining anonymous

If you do not wish your personal information to be shared outside of the organization, for example, in print or electronic publications, you will be given the opportunity to check a box to remain anonymous. When submitting an online donation, you will select the "I would like to donate anonymously" box, which will let us know that your information should not be shared. The same process is true when submitting a physical donation. All printed materials give you the option to check a box to remain anonymous. Likewise, you can send a letter along with your donation indicating you do not want us to share your information.

Our commitment to data security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
